abdullah shahid
Abdullah Shahid is a Pakistani director, producer, screenwriter, and actor. He graduated with honors from Pomona College, California, in 2019, where he studied film theory and theatre. He was awarded the prestigious Scott Winslow Award in Media Studies and The Virginia Princehouse Allen Prize in Drama for his contributions to film and theatre. His thesis film has screened at festivals worldwide. He later co-devised and performed in a production at the Hollywood Fringe Festival called "How to Adult!".
His short film Catfish premiered at the Oscar-qualifying Tasveer Film Festival in Seattle and had its UK premiere at the Divvy Film Festival in London. His most recent film, Hot Soup, had its world premiere at ISAFF in Canada, was shortlisted for the Busan International Film Festival and most recently played at the Rung Film Festival in Houston, Texas.
Abdullah has spent two years as an IB DP Film Instructor in Lahore, Pakistan, and is currently an MFA Graduate Film Candidate at NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
